I Ain't No Fancy Bird: Maya Tamang

Maya Tamang's I Ain't No Fancy Bird is the culmination of her recent studio practice, an exhibition which focuses on deeply felt portraits of people who are inspirational and important to her. Drawing from classic Hollywood, her paintings channel the playfulness, flamboyance, expressiveness and exuberance of that era, characteristics similarly personified by her chosen sitters and cultural icons. This exciting new exhibition demonstrates Tamang's commitment to her practice and significant artistic accomplishments to date. I Ain't No Fancy Bird coincides with Open House Melbourne at Donkey Wheel House on 24, 25 and 26 July, an open invitation to connect with the businesses that give back to the community. Celebrate the opening of Maya Tamang’s solo exhibition I Ain’t No Fancy Bird on 24 July 6–8pm at Jump Left. Light food and beverages provided. This exhibition is supported by Donkey Wheel House.
