What does a better, more sustainable society actually look like — and how do we get there?
If this question excites you, join our event!
At Utopia Lab, we explore utopian thinking from every angle: small, doable steps we can take here and now as a group, big long-term ideas worth striving for, honest breakdowns of ideas that turn out to be too naively utopian, and conversations that push on what we even consider possible for a good society.
Each meetup is open-format for now — the discussion goes wherever the group wants to take it that day, whether that's economic systems, governance, human needs, technology, ecology, or meaning and purpose.
We hold the meeting in both Swedish and English. Which ever language the group is most comfortable expressing themselves in.
After the three planned events we will evaluate the format. Either we keep it open or we move to a specific focus topic for each event.
If you have as specific question you would like to bring to the event, add it to the discussion part of the event and we'll make time for it when we meet.
Every meetup rests on three ground principles:
Exploring, not debating.
The goal isn't to "win" a discussion but to build understanding together — in the spirit of "yes, and" thinking rather than counter-argument.
A cross-disciplinary buffet.
Each session, we draw perspectives from many directions: economic systems, forms of governance, human needs, technology, ecology, spirituality/meaning.
Building cumulatively.
We assume the group's collective thinking grows over time — so we save everything (on a Miro board) instead of starting from scratch each time. But just to be clear, you can jump into any of the events and take part of a valuable disucssion regardless if you're new to the group or been with us since start.
