Neurodivergent Board Game Night
About the event
Neurodivergence can be a lonely experience, especially in a city like Dubai where everyone's passing through and finding your people is hard.
This is a relaxed board game night for neurodivergent adults: ADHD, Asperger's, AuDHD, or self-identifying, or just pretty sure you're wired a bit differently. If that's your vibe then you're welcome, diagnosis not required. It's built around the games so you don't have to force small talk. Come find your people at your own pace.
How the night works
• Arrive any time from 6:30pm. No pressure to mingle, grab a drink, find a table, settle in. • We play at a few tables at once, with a mix of easy co-op games and quieter strategy ones. New to board games is completely fine, we'll pick things up together and there's always someone happy to explain the rules. • Traffic-light badges so you control how much you interact:
🟢 Green, come talk to me 🟡 Yellow, I'll chat if you approach gently 🔴 Red, here and happy, but please don't approach
• No pressure to talk beyond the game. You're welcome to just watch a table if that's your speed. • We wrap at 9pm. Clear start, clear finish, no one's trapped.
The practical bits
• 📍 tile Board Game Cafe, Jumeirah Heights (edge of JLT) • 🗓️ Wednesday 23rd • ⏰ 6:30pm to 9pm • 🎲 Joining is free. tile charges 30 AED per person to play, which covers the table and their full game library for the night. They've offered to bring that down once we're a regular fixture. • 🚗 Parking on site.
This is the first one of these I've run, so we'll figure out the rhythm together. If it clicks, the plan is to make it a regular thing, with the odd different format down the line. Come help shape what it becomes.
