King King (UK)
About the event
King King brings blues rock from the United Kingdom to De Vorstin. Frontman Alan Nimmo takes you on a journey through raw blues and classic rock, with powerful guitar parts and a sound that fans of Free and Bad Company will instantly recognize. Showing at Poppodium Vorstin in Hilversum. Blues rock from Glasgow
King King is a British blues rock band founded in 2008 by Alan Nimmo. Brothers Alan and Stevie Nimmo grew up in Glasgow in a musical family with roots in classic British blues rock. That background is reflected in the band's sound: solid, direct, and with a great sense of dynamics.
A band that comes alive on stage
King King is known for powerful live shows. The lineup — Alan Nimmo on guitar and vocals, Stevie Nimmo on guitar, Jonny Dyke on keyboards, Zander Greenshields on bass, and Jon Lodge on drums — plays like a well-oiled machine. The songs move effortlessly between subdued blues and full-bodied rock, with room for guitar work that grabs attention without being overdone.
Awards and recognition
The band has won the title of 'Best Band' multiple times at the British Blues Awards, the European Blues Awards, and the UK Blues Awards. They also took home awards for Best Album. The fact that the band has been around for years and tours Europe regularly speaks volumes about its quality and consistent live presence.
