🎨 African Fabric Art Workshop & Culture Talk | Osaka 🌍
About the event
Create your own framed African fabric art, meet new people, and learn about Africa! Join me for a relaxed and creative afternoon in Osaka where art meets African culture. This time, we're doing something a little different! I'll bring a selection of colourful African fabrics, and you'll choose your favourite pattern to create your own framed fabric artwork to take home. 🖼️ You don't need any artistic experience. I'll guide you through the process, and everyone will have the freedom to create something a little different. And since we're meeting in November, your finished artwork could also make a beautiful handmade Christmas gift for someone special. 🎄🎁
🎨 Part 1: Create Your African Fabric Art
Choose an African fabric that catches your eye and turn it into your own framed artwork. Your participation fee includes: 🖼️ One standard picture frame 🌍 Your choice of African fabric ✂️ Craft materials 🧴 Glue and other shared materials 🙋♀️ Guidance during the workshop Your finished artwork is yours to take home!
🖼️ Would You Like a Bigger Frame?
The ¥1,000 participation fee includes one standard-size frame. If you would prefer to make a larger piece, please contact me before the event. I may be able to arrange a larger frame for you for an additional fee.
🖼️ Show Us Your Creation!
When everyone has finished, we'll have our own little art show! You'll have an opportunity to show us what you created, tell us why you chose your particular fabric, and see what everyone else made. We may all begin with the same idea, but I'm looking forward to seeing how different everyone's finished artwork will be. After our little art show, we'll take a group photo with our creations. 📸
🌍 Part 2: Let's Talk About Africa!
After creating our artwork, we'll sit together, relax and have an open conversation about Africa. I'm from Cameroon and have travelled to several African countries, so I'll share some of my own experiences and answer your questions. This isn't a lecture. It's a conversation! You can ask me anything you're genuinely curious about. We can talk about: 🌍 Everyday life in different African countries 🍲 Food 👗 Fashion and clothing ✈️ Travel around Africa 🗣️ Languages 🎉 Celebrations and traditions 😂 Cultural surprises and misconceptions 🇯🇵 Similarities and differences between Africa and Japan You're also welcome to share experiences from your own country and culture. The goal is to learn from one another. No question is foolish. Come curious!

⚠️ PLEASE RSVP ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN ATTEND
This is very important for this particular event. I will personally purchase the picture frames in advance based on the number of people who register for the workshop. Every “Yes” RSVP means that I will buy a frame and prepare materials for that person. For this reason, please only reserve a place if you are genuinely planning to attend. If you're not yet sure about your schedule, that's completely fine—please wait until you are certain before joining the event. I understand that genuine emergencies and unexpected situations can happen. I simply ask everyone to be considerate when reserving a place because I will be spending money in advance to prepare for each registered participant. 🙏 Please RSVP only when you're confident that you can come. This will help me prepare the correct number of frames and materials and allow me to keep the participation fee affordable. Thank you for understanding! ❤️
👥 Who Can Join?
Everyone is welcome! You don't need to know anything about Africa. You don't need to be good at…
