A journey into the Amazon: cacao origins, flavors, pharmacology & your daily ritual with Myrvann + a short film premiere by Dara Morgana Saturday, October 17 · 15:30–21:00 · Lakefront Lounge _ A day for curious minds, open senses and good cacao. _ PART I: MYRVANN CACAO — FLAVORS OF THE FOREST Myrvann Cacao, head of Norway’s dedicated specialty cacao movement, enters the Swedish scene with an immersive journey of Amazonian storytelling, cacao tasting, sensory and scientific exploration. We’ll follow cacao from forest to bean to bar to cup and into the body, uncovering where it comes from, why origin matters, how different cacao can taste, and what science tells us about its effects. Founder Martin Bull shares the story behind Myrvann: from a 2-year sailing expedition from Norway through South America and into the Amazon, to deep-diving into the worlds of cacao and rainforest ecology, and eventually building a cacao factory in Numedal, Norway. At the heart of Myrvann lies a vision that re-establishes our relationship with this ancient plant. The mission is to reconnect the modern use of cacao with its origins: the forests, people, cultures, genetics and knowledge that have shaped it. At this event, you’ll get a chance to taste several cacao origins, guided through flavour, texture, memory and imagination, before diving deeper into cacao’s backstories, diversity and health benefits of its daily use. https://myrvann.no/ https://www.instagram.com/myrvanncacaoofficial/ From the origin of cacao to the origin stories we carry ourselves. PART II: A SENSE OF WONDER The evening continues with the premiere of a 17-minute short film by an interdisciplinary artist, author and TEDx speaker Dara Morgana, Lakefront's resident artist.
What does it mean to be grounded? To be a seed? To be a tree?
In this short documentary, we follow Dara into the forest as she weaves together bark, thread, and gold to create 'The Poet-Tree'—a performance piece born from a journey through darkness…
