IP Law and Tech Startups: What Founders Need to Know

⚖️ IP Law & Tech Startups: What Founders Need to Know You’re building something innovative. But are you protecting it? Intellectual property can be one of a startup’s most valuable assets, yet many founders overlook it until they're raising capital, launching a product, or facing legal challenges. Join Sabrina Cherkaoui, a student at FIU Law’s Business Innovation and Technology (BIT) Clinic, for a practical workshop on the fundamentals of intellectual property and what every tech founder should understand. 💡 What We'll Cover Patents, trademarks, copyrights & trade secrets: What they protect and why they matter. IP & fundraising: What investors look for during intellectual property due diligence. AI & intellectual property: Emerging legal questions and considerations for AI-driven businesses. Common mistakes: How to identify potential IP risks before they become bigger challenges. The session will wrap up with an interactive Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and explore real-world scenarios. Whether you're a startup founder, entrepreneur, engineer, investor, or working in the tech ecosystem, this workshop will help you better understand how to protect what you're building. 📍 Mana Tech 📅 Monday, October 26 | 5:00–7:00 PM
