SPARK Clubhouse Amsterdam #7 - Breath
About the event
In a world that constantly pulls us outwards, SPARK Clubhouse creates space to look at life from the inside-out. Once a month. Offline. Together. Each edition centres around one tool or perspective offering a way to better understand how you relate to yourself, to others, and to the world around you. Insights are drawn from ancient wisdom, indigenous knowledge, science and philosophy. You’ll leave with a fresh perspective you can take back into daily life.
SPARK Clubhouse is open to anyone (between 18-30) curious about living with more clarity. From within.
Session #7 - Breath: The way in has been with you all along 🌬️ You’ve been breathing since the moment you were born. Most of the time, without ever thinking about it. Breath is automatic, but unlike most processes happening inside your body, you can take control of it at any moment. For centuries, different traditions have used this strange ability to influence our physical and mental state — through practices ranging from pranayama and meditation to modern breathwork. In this SPARK Clubhouse, we explore the breath as a bridge between what happens automatically and what we can consciously influence. Together, we’ll experiment with different breathing techniques and experience what happens when we change the pace, depth and rhythm of something our body normally does by itself. Can you change your state by changing your breath? What happens when you consciously take over an unconscious process? And what can something you do 20,000 times a day teach you about yourself? RENS HAEN
As a child, Rens struggled with hyperventilation, making breath a recurring theme throughout his life. What started as a struggle became a fascination. Today, as co-founder of Lekker Ademen, he helps others discover the power of conscious breathing. Together with Rens, you’ll explore how your breath can become a practical tool for more calm, energy and awareness. PROGRAM 19:00–19:20 — Arrival 19:20–19:30 — Welcome 19:30–20:10 — Talk,…
