Party Quest: Pitch and Find Your Game Dev Team | Game Dev Guild
About the event
Pitch your skills or your project in one minute, then meet the people who want to make games with you.
Party Quest is a game development pitching and networking event at Toa Payoh Public Library, run by Game Dev Guild SG. Game developers, artists, composers, writers and indie studios each get one minute to pitch their skills or their project, then meet potential teammates at project tables.
Open to all who love games and the craft behind them.
Who it is for
• Complete beginners who want to make their first game
• Students looking for projects or experience
• Artists, writers, composers and designers, no coding needed
• Developers with a project who need a team
• Indie studios looking for interns, freelancers or volunteers, with clear terms
Not ready to pitch? That is completely fine. Come to watch, cheer people on and meet them afterwards.
What you will learn
• How to pitch yourself or your idea clearly in one minute
• How game teams find each other and work together
• Who in Singapore is making games, and how you might join them
Schedule
• 3pm: Briefing and announcements, including game jam news
• 3:30pm: Pitches
• After the pitches until 6pm: Project tables and mingling
Keep learning at the library
• Blood, Sweat, and Pixels by Jason Schreier. True stories of how game teams form, struggle and ship. Read it free on Libby with your library card, or borrow it at any NLB branch.
• LinkedIn Learning, free with your NLB myLibrary account. Short courses on game design, pixel art and programming, so you can build the skill you pitch.
A community, not a one-off
Game Dev Guild SG meets regularly in NLB libraries so people can keep learning and making games together. Our next session is a Visual Novel Workshop on Saturday, 28 November, 3pm to 6pm at Toa Payoh Public Library, in the spirit of the Singapore Writers Festival.
