Exploring whether AWS certifications make a meaningful difference in your career prospects? At the fourth AWS User Group São Roque meetup, we examine how certifications influence employment opportunities in cloud computing.
Key questions we'll address: Do certifications genuinely help? Which certification should you pursue? What's the best preparation strategy? Is certification alone sufficient, or does hands-on experience remain essential?
Roberto Hindrikson (Bob), our speaker, brings extensive technology sector experience and a practical career transition into AWS. His journey began in IT in 1988 during the mainframe era. Throughout his career, he has worked across technical development, databases, pre-sales, sales, training, marketing, and strategic partnerships, with professional experience in the United States.
In 2021, Bob returned to technical work and found new career direction with AWS. He now works exclusively with AWS at GFT, holds 6 AWS certifications, and shares expertise through speaking, mentoring, and training. He also volunteers as a mentor at Escola da Nuvem, supporting emerging technology professionals.
Bob will share practical insights on AWS certifications, career development, and the job market, drawing from experience on both sides: as a professional seeking opportunities and as someone now active in cloud roles.
