Joy Ride to Valentino Pier - Welcome Back Janet!

Ride leader Janet Joy Wilson will be back in NYC in October!
Let’s have a Brompton "Joy Ride" from Lower Manhattan to Valentino Pier in Red Hook to enjoy the night sky and reconnect with much-missed Janet! This is a 11-mile social ride at a slow pace, for Brompton bicycles only.
DETAILS We’ll meet at the base of the Christopher Street Pier on the Hudson Greenway. We’ll depart at approximately 6:20PM after 20 minutes of socializing. At the meeting point there are restrooms for us to use. The route is on a paved, comfortable bike path, with little traffic.
We'll cross the Brooklyn Bridge to Brooklyn and cruise along the waterfront towards our goal, enjoying spectacular views of the tip of Manhattan.
At Valentino Pier, we will have a break to have some of Steve's Key Lime Pies - a New York classic and very fun. We'll hang out to socialize a bit before we go on the second, shorter part of the ride.
This will lead us to into DUMBO, Brooklyn. We will have a small After Party with Janet on our rooftop terrace with the wonderful views off the Manhattan skyline to round off the glorious evening.
RIDE LEVEL: Chill / Relaxed Pace: 16 kmh / 10 mph Distance: 11-12 miles Everyone is welcome, no one will be left behind.
WHAT TO BRING
• Since we will be riding back in the dark, lights are required • Please ensure your tires are inflated and your bike is in good working order • Spare inner tube in case of flats - everyone should bring this
PLEASE MAINTAIN YOUR RSVP! If you can’t attend, please update your RSVP so someone from the waiting list can have your spot. Riders with a history of “no shows” may be removed from the ride in favor of others on the waiting list.

1. Be kind. Welcome and encourage other riders. Insults, shaming, and hate will be removed, and offenders will be banned. 2. Your safety is your responsibility. Helmets are required. Lights are required if riding in darkness. It is each rider’s responsibility to ensure their bike is clean, well-maintained, and fully functional. 3. All bikes are welcome. Occasional Brompton-only events will be clearly labeled. Contact your local Brompton dealer if you'd like to borrow a Brompton for an event (participation may vary). 4.
