WIMDI Art Gallery Lunch — In-Person Gathering

WIMDI’s taking it outside to enjoy our gorgeous Vancouver weather while we have it! This summer WIMDI is meeting up for mid-workday picnic lunches! Bring your lunch and meet us on the North Stairs of Robson Square (the Art Gallery side). We'll eat together and network, talk, and share strategies with other women who understand what it's like to work in male-dominated industries. Heck, we'll even do a round of our famous WIMDIasks to help connect you with resources that will help your career! Here's the plan: 1. Grab your homemade lunch from the fridge at work or your favorite food truck. 2. Meet by the steps on the North side of Robson Square. 3. Meet some cool women and non-binary folks and chat about our work lives. 4. Exchange cards, phone numbers, emails, and LinkedIn connection requests with an amazing group of people who get what your work life is like. Hope to see you there! Accessible Washrooms: There are public washroom at the Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza (SW corner of W Georgia & Howe). Covid Precautions: • This in-person event is being held outdoors to reduce risk for our covid-cautious, and immunocompromised members. • Masking is encouraged for any WIMDI members who prefer to wear them for their own safety and/or comfort. • Worried about being the only one in a mask? Attendance Notes: • Gender: All WIMDI Art Gallery Lunches are restricted to those who do not currently identify as cisgender men. These events have limited attendance and often involve personal discussion, debate, and advice specific to dynamics underrepresented minorities in these industries experience. We are happy for cisgender men to learn and participate in WIMDI conversation at most of our other events, but we reserve the Art Gallery Lunch as a space for women***** to connect with each other freely and openly. *****WIMDI uses an inclusive definition of women that means "people who are in a gender minority in their field".
