Prairie Coteau
About the event
A Civil War Bill veteran played by Will Barton (West End's "The Last Temptation of Boris Johnson") goes to set up a home in the Dakota Territory in 1878 with a land grant from The Homestead Act leaving behind his young newlywed bride Nellie in St Paul, Minnesota (intending to bring her out in the spring). Facing his first winter on a harsh and brutal terrain as well as feeling lonely and despondent (and having PTSD) he gets a visit from a young "stray vagabond" named Ole., whom he can't get rid of which results in some very much needed comic and hilarious episodes, along with Minerva, "a kindred spirit who owns the local general store and gives him a run for his money (which he owes her by the way!) Find out how this motley crew navigates their way thru the "wild and unpredictable Dakota plains" A new play about resilience, heartbreak, mental illness, hope and the "adopted family" you never expected to find....will surprise you in more ways than one! The cast also features Angelina Kristic (Best Off Broadway Director Nominee) as Minerva. Samantha Mileski (Broadway World Award Winner) as Nellie and Barbara Bleier as Beatrice. "Prairie Coteau" had it's first staged readings this year
