Punishment Park is a 1971 film by British director Peter Watkins. The film is set in an alternate America, where the government drags political dissidents—including Black Power activists, anti-war protesters, and left-wing intellectuals—before a tribunal. They choose between a long prison sentence or a trek through the Southern Californian desert. A European film crew documents it all.
