About the event
Our Lady Help of Christians Parish is hoping to send 20 committed youth to World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul from 3-8 August 2027. This global gathering brings together young people from every corner of the world to celebrate their faith with the Pope through prayer, catechesis, worship, and meaningful cultural exchange. For many of our youth, opportunities like this are rare. Our parish community carries a deep desire to grow in faith, but financial barriers often limit experiences that could shape and strengthen their spiritual journey. This pilgrimage has the potential to be truly life changing, not only for the 20 catechists who will attend, but for the entire parish they will return to serve, encourage, and inspire. However, the reality is that the cost of international travel and participation is far beyond what many of our families can manage on their own. Without support, this dream may simply not be possible. That is why we are working together to raise R500,000 by March 2027 to give these young leaders the chance to take part in this extraordinary moment for the Church.Your support can help open a door that might otherwise remain closed. By contributing, you are helping young people grow in faith, build confidence in their calling, and return home ready to uplift and guide others in our community. Even the smallest donation brings us one step closer to making this journey possible.
