Workshop: Garden planting and ethnobotanical memory game | Brazilian Folklore Day

Led by Unidiversidade da Quebrada with limited spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis; registration not required. At the maloca of Biblioteca Parque Villa-Lobos, participants plant edible, aromatic and medicinal seedlings while learning their uses through an ethnobotanical memory game. The activity features sensory experiences including harvesting and direct plant contact during planting. This special edition incorporates stories celebrating Brazilian Folklore Day (August 22) connected to plants and their traditional applications. Seedlings are distributed to participants at the end. Based at União de Vila Nova (São Miguel Paulista) and part of Instituto NUA, Unidiversidade da Quebrada has operated since 2020 in environmental education, agroecology and social inclusion, running intergenerational activities on urban gardens, composting, native bees, recycling and sustainable technologies.
