Guided tours of the Pis - Museu Habitatge 1/11 de la Casa Bloc

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes. Tour language: Catalan, Spanish (last Saturday of the month). For wheelchair users, only the ground floor of the duplex is accessible. Built during the Second Spanish Republic in Barcelona by architects Josep Lluís Sert, Josep Torres Clavé, and Joan Baptista Subirana, Casa Bloc was developed in line with the principles of GATCPAC (Grup d’Artistes i Tècnics Catalans pel Progrés de l’Arquitectura Contemporània). One of its apartments has now been restored to recover its original appearance. The guided tour of Habitatge 1/11 explains the innovation that Casa Bloc represented for the architecture and society of its time. The Museu del Disseny – DHub organises guided tours of one of the apartments in Casa Bloc, regarded as a symbol of rationalist architecture in Barcelona. The visit offers the opportunity to explore one of the building’s apartments, restored to reflect its original appearance while highlighting the innovation that Casa Bloc brought to the architecture and society of its era.
