Launched in 1993 and now celebrating 33 years of activity, the Walking Club is an initiative by Sesc São Paulo centered on physical exercise that respects each person's fitness level, abilities, and limitations. It was first introduced to visitors at the Ipiranga unit. Due to its success and positive reception, the program expanded to other units in the capital, the interior, and the coast. The goal is to bring together people of all ages interested in accessible and enjoyable physical activity, offering an exercise option that generally has no contraindications.
Walking aligns with Sesc São Paulo's sports and fitness approach, which encourages discovering guided exercise, incorporating it into daily routines, and gaining related knowledge. Walking offers many advantages: it is accessible, requires no special equipment or specific locations, is a naturally simple activity, and does not demand extensive technical learning or highly complex motor skills.
