Free International Workshop | Theatre and Community – Sentimental Archaeology of a Territory

Dates: 17–28 August 2026, Monday to Friday, 19h30–22h30. Venue: Unidade Roosevelt. This workshop develops participants' understanding of artistic and human practice within community contexts. Working in performative exercises that integrate composition, movement, sound design, spatial arrangement, and costume/props, participants produce approximately 9-minute pieces. The framework "Sentimental Archaeology of a Territory" treats community as a site of histories, tensions, and daily lived experience. Facilitator: Rui Germano, Portuguese theatre director, master's degree in theatre and community, founder of Associação Cultural Beleza Teatro, and long-standing collaborator with SP Escola Superior de Teatro. His work centres on collaborative processes rooted in memory, personal experience, and relationships between art and community, creating scenic experiences that foster cultural exchange across different territories.
