FilmGate Best of Fest
About the event
Florida filmmakers return to the big screen for FilmGate Miami’s annual year-end showcase, bringing together winning shorts from the organization’s monthly festival series. Presented Wednesday, November 18 at Silverspot Cinema in Downtown Miami, FilmGate Festival: Best-of-Fest gives previous 2026 winners another chance to compete for top honors, including the Crystal Pink Kraken Award.
The evening features a curated program of short films, followed by filmmaker Q&As and an awards ceremony judged by industry professionals. A networking component before and after the screening gives filmmakers, actors and other members of South Florida’s creative community time to connect, while FilmGate’s Percolator offers participants a 60-second opportunity to pitch a project, skill or collaboration idea.
Official film selections and jurors will be announced closer to the event. Best-of-Fest closes out the annual FilmGate Festival series, which highlights Florida-made short films, documentaries, music videos and web series throughout the year.
