Bay Views for All reveals the human cost of the Victorian Government’s public housing redevelopment project, documenting residents of the Barak Beacon public housing estate as they fight to save their homes and community. Shot over two years, the story follows seven residents as they experience the destruction of their homes and community. The film documents the history of the buildings, the people who lived in them, and the building of a campaign to save their homes from gentrification. It shows how a life-altering event can transform ordinary people and galvanise them to act to make change. Following the screening, join a panel discussion featuring community members, residents and advocates. Grounded in lived experience, the conversation will explore the issues raised in the film surrounding public housing.
