Historic Holidays Decor: Tides & Tidings
About the event
Coastal-inspired holiday décor fills Deering Estate’s historic spaces with nautical details, shimmering colors and references to Biscayne Bay. Historic Holidays Decor: Tides & Tidings is on view November 27 through January 6 during estate hours, with the estate closed on Christmas Day.
The annual holiday installation features a new theme each year, transforming the estate with seasonal displays created under the direction of Deering Estate in collaboration with the Deering Estate Foundation, 100 Ladies of Deering and volunteers. This year’s theme draws from Charles Deering’s interest in seafaring, exploration and the natural beauty of South Florida’s coastline.
Visitors can expect décor inspired by ocean blues and silvers, coral, mangroves, maritime motifs and holiday traditions by the water. The display also reflects Deering Estate’s broader emphasis on conservation, connecting the season’s coastal theme to the preservation of the site’s natural habitats and cultural landscapes.
Historic holiday décor is included with general admission. Admission is $18 for adults and $10 for children ages 4-14, plus tax; admission is free for Deering Estate Foundation members and children under 4. The Stone House is closed for renovation and restoration, while the rest of the estate remains open for visitors.
