Shorts: In Focus— Fragile Fatherhood | Central Arts Library

Programme:

Join us for a screening of two local short films exploring the theme of the fathers caught in fraught familial circumstances. Following after the screenings are presentations by the directors Jow Zhi Wei and Jonathan Choo, as well as a Q&A session with the filmmakers, moderated by Juan Foo.

Short Films:

Synopsis of  Outing (2009):

A boy is left in the care of his grandfather after the demise of his parents. The duo goes for an outing one day and through the events that take place during the short journey, they realize their dependence on one another.

Synopsis of  Han (2016):

After his son flees from a fatal road accident, a guilt-ridden father takes it upon himself to right his son’s undoing. He embarks on a sobering journey of atonement and travels to Korea to meet the victim’s parents.
