Paddleboarding and Floating DJ on Lady Bird Lake
About the event
SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboarding) & Floating DJ. Come join us for a fun time on Lady Bird Lake! There will be a floating DJ blasting tunes for all of us water lovers. This will be an excellent event for soaking in some sunshine and tunes on the water. ☀️🎶💦
This event is for intermediate and above paddlers who are comfortable standing, paddling, steering, and maintaining a steady pace with the group. You don’t need to be an expert—just come ready to have fun, meet people, and enjoy the water.
Cost • BYOB (bring your own board) - FREE!! (If you are bringing your own board, please bring a PFD - personal flotation device/life jacket.) • Rent a board from the Texas Rowing Center - $50/2 hours (Rentals include a paddleboard, paddle, and a PFD.)
Parking • Metered street parking is available on Stephen F. Austin Drive behind Texas Rowing Center. • Free parking lot is availabe at the east end of Stephen F. Austin Drive. • Overflow parking is available under the MoPac Bridge, about a 5-minute walk west. • Free weekend parking is available at the Austin High School parking lot across the street.
Arrival and Launch Time 11:45 - Arrive - We will meet at the Texas Rowing Center deck. Allow enough time to park, inflate your board/rent equipment, if needed, and have your equipment ready to go. If you are renting, you will need to bring your drivers license and money or debit/credit card. You can store important items in a box behind the rental counter.
*12:00 noon - Launch - We will launch from the Texas Rowing Center deck at 12:00 noon!!!*
Bring: Water, sunscreen, hat/sunglasses, a dry bag if you have one, and a PFD if you’re bringing your own board.
We will paddle together at a nice, easy pace for about two hours, with time to stop, float, listen to music and visit along the way.
Optional After-Event Hangout (2:15 PM): After we wrap up paddle boarding at 2:00 PM, anyone who wants to grab lunch and drinks can head over to Pinthouse Pizza on South Lamar (about a 7-10 minute drive from the dock). It's an ultra-casual brewpub so it will be fine to just throw something on over your swimsuit after paddling. They serve great handcrafted pizzas, pizza rolls, salads, and local craft beer. It is counter service, meaning everyone can easily open and pay for their own tab.
