GreenThumb community gardens are developed, led, and cared for by dedicated volunteer gardeners who critically maintain them as public green spaces.Hattie Carthan Herban Farm is hosting bi-weekly volunteer days to engage new volunteers and gardeners with the space! Join us for a hands-on Work and Learn Day at the Hattie Carthan Herban Farm! This recurring event includes around 2 hours of dedicated volunteer work, followed by a hands-on educational hour.Volunteer tasks include weeding, pruning, and mulching. Refreshments and all tools, including gloves, are provided.Harvest beneficial herbs, make a smudge stick, and more in a hands-on educational hour with Farmer Yon after the volunteer session! We meet every other Friday, 4 p.m.- 7 p.m.No prior experience necessary - beginners are welcome! GreenThumb will provide supplies and facilitation.Register here! This is a great opportunity to support a dynamic community space while learning about urban agriculture. Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and bring water and snacks.
