About the event
The three nominees for the GrachtenfestivalPrijs 2026 — pianist Eduard Preda, soprano Ana-Carmen Balestra, and double bassist Sasha Witteveen — will perform the closing concert of the festival together at Felix Meritis Amsterdam. Featuring music by Bottesini, Massenet, Velázquez, and Piazzolla. At the end, the jury will announce the winner. Three nominees on one stage For the closing concert of the Grachtenfestival, the three nominees for the 2026 Grachtenfestival Prize take the stage together: pianist Eduard Preda, soprano Ana-Carmen Balestra, and double bassist Sasha Witteveen. They perform in varying configurations — solo, as a duo, and together. In this way, the concert showcases the talent each musician possesses. Program with international composers The program features music by Giovanni Bottesini, Jules Massenet, Pedro Velázquez, and Astor Piazzolla. These composers come from different countries and eras, but complement one another well. You will hear a mix of classical, romantic, and Latin American repertoire. Announcement of the winner At the end of the concert, the jury will announce the winner of the GrachtenfestivalPrijs 2026. The winner will play a leading role at the Grachtenfestival in 2027. The prize is awarded annually to a young talent who distinguishes themselves through their own artistic vision and a strong stage presence. Are you interested in this concert?
