Pinacoteca de São Paulo hosts the launch of the book "Paula Rego e Adriana Varejão: Entre os vossos dentes", a publication conceived from the encounter between the works of these two artists and developed from the homonymous exhibition held in 2025 at the Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian (CAM) in Lisbon. Its title, inspired by verses from poet Hilda Hilst, brings together paintings, prints and sculptures organized into thematic clusters that examine issues of body, memory, colonialism, violence and structures of oppression in female experience. By pairing the outputs of Paula Rego and Adriana Varejão, the book highlights poetic and political convergences between two artists who, in different contexts, investigate power relations, gender, representation and history. Alongside the artwork selection, the volume features a dialogue between the artists, a conversation between Adriana Varejão and the exhibition curators, forewords by Guilherme D’Oliveira Martins and Benjamin Weil, essays by Raphael Fonseca and Elena Crippa, and an excerpt from Hilda Hilst’s poem "Poemas aos homens do nosso tempo". The launch takes place on August 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM, in the Auditório da Pinacoteca Luz. The program includes a talk between Adriana Varejão and Pollyana Quintella, moderated by Victor Gorgulho, followed by a book signing.
