The Wander Society
Inspired by Keri Smith’s *The Wander Society*, which in turn draws inspiration from the artistic practices of the Situationists, our next activity starts with a very simple idea: What if, instead of just passing through the city, we actually tried to experience it?
How often do we walk through the streets without really looking around us? We go from point A to point B, thinking about what we have to do next, checking our phones and taking the same familiar routes. What if, just for a while, we did the opposite?
During this dérive, we’ll let our perceptions guide us and see where the city takes us. There will be no destination to reach, no itinerary to follow and no map to check. In fact, we’ll have just one rule: there are no rules. 🌀
No plans, no maps, no compass. Just us, the city and a few small actions to help us see it from a different perspective. We might come across a place we’ve never noticed before, follow a street simply because it looks interesting, stop somewhere that would normally go unnoticed or simply… get lost.
The goal? Slow down. Observe. Listen. Let yourself be surprised. 📅 Sunday, October 18 🕓 4:00 PM 💶 Free 📍 Place Royale Devant le musée Magritte
No preparation is needed, you don’t have to know Brussels perfectly and, most importantly… you don’t need to know where you’re going.
🌧️ And hopefully, it won’t rain. Although, let’s be honest… we’re in Belgium. 😂
Come alone or bring a friend. All you need is a little curiosity and a willingness to lose your way for a while… and maybe discover something new.
