Joint Meeting R & SSA VIC '26

**Hello everyone**. We are waking up from our hybernation. Hope all of you have been well. If you remember both the R User Group and members of **Statistical Society Australia - Victoria** had a wonderful joint meeting last year. This August 2026 we will be doing that again. We like to do two things for this meeting. First, a short talk on R + AI, then an open microphone from all of you who would like to share a 5 mins brief of what projects you are working on. **First Part - Short Talk**: R and Posit Assistant (PA) **Abstract**: This is an introduction on ways to use PA to our advantage. **Speaker: Dr Tony Liu.** **Second Part** \- Open Microphone\, 5 mins each\. Max 4 speakers\. We encourage our **SSA-Vic** colleagues on this. **Agenda**: 6:00 - 6:45: Networking over pizza, sandwitches and softdrinks. Cutlery/cups will be provided but 6:45 - 7:00: Announcements 7:00 - 7:30: Short Talk + Q & A. 7:30 - 8:00: Open Mic + Comments etc **Note**: If you have special dietary requirements, we only have vegetarian/non-vegetarian options.
