Welcome to the Personal Growth BookClub Copenhagen! On the **12th of September** we will discuss the topic of personality traits based on the book **"Surrounded by idiots"** Main book **📚 "Surrounded by idiots" by** Thomas Erikson ### 🧠 Topic Overview: Personality Traits & Communication We often feel like others are "difficult" simply because they communicate differently than we do. By understanding behavioral frameworks, we can learn to spot different communication styles, recognize what motivates people, reduce workplace and personal friction, and adapt our own behavior to connect better with everyone around us. ### 📚 Book Description: *Surrounded by Idiots* by Thomas Erikson In *Surrounded by Idiots*, communication expert Thomas Erikson breaks down human behavior into **four primary personality types represented by colors** (based on the popular DISC model): * 🔴 **Red (Dominant):** Direct, decisive, competitive, and goal-oriented. * 🟡 **Yellow (Inspiring):** Enthusiastic, creative, optimistic, and highly social. * 🟢 **Green (Supportive):** Calm, loyal, patient, and conflict-averse. * 🔵 **Blue (Analytical):** Precise, detail-oriented, methodical, and reserved. The book offers practical strategies for identifying these traits in friends, family, and colleagues, helping you give better feedback, avoid misunderstandings, and stop viewing different personalities as "idiots." ### 🎬 Recommended Videos to Share 1. **Animated Book Summary (Quick Overview \~8–10 mins):** * **Title:** *Surrounded by Idiots (Animated Book Summary) by Wizbuskout* * **Link:** [Watch on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpbQs2I3QHY) * **Why it's great:** A clear visual breakdown explaining all 4 color types and how they interact in real-world scenarios. 2. **Short Bite-Sized Summary (\~3 mins):** * **Title:** *Understanding Different Personality Types Made Easy – StoryShots* * **Link:** [Watch on YouTube](https://www.google.com/search?q=https://www.youtube.com/watch%3F4_JT2RKFh8Y) * **Why it's great:** A fast, fun overview perfect for club members who want a quick primer before the session.
