Circusbende Festival is a free open-air festival in Amsterdam, at Het Groene Veld (North) and in Erasmuspark (West). Expect a quirky mix of circus, music, and more, full of humor and absurdism. Both weekends have their own program. The circus is largely wordless, by donation or ticket. Food and drinks are available. A quirky circus gang Circusbende emerged in 2018 from the Amsterdam free (squat) scene and grew into an annual festival centered on circus, experimentation, and creating things together. It has since become a fixture in the city, supported by makers, volunteers, and the public. The festival is known for its open, accessible character, where culture is presented right in the public space. Visitors will find contemporary circus, music, installations, and work-in-progress performances, often wordless and always surprising in form.
