Grab a drink. Take a seat. Meet DOTTIE. A bold, musical joyride through showbiz. Jazz cabaret backed by a live band, Old Hollywood glamour and a sharp, modern bite.The show follows the lives of forgotten star Dorothy Dandridge, the first African-American nominated for an Oscar in a leading role in 1955; and Lola, a young mixed-race actress today, who finds out just how far she’ll go to make it big. Expect laughs, belting vocals and brutal truths. Inspired by Dorothy Dandridge’s own words and modern experiences. DOTTIE is a candid look behind the scenes for women of colour.
