Golden Gardens staircase, marine walk, and lunch

Start the weekend morning leisurely and meet at the Caffe Fiore (3125 NW 85th St, Seattle, WA 98117) at 10.00 am to walk down the steps to the beach (at about 10.20). From there, we'll make a loop around the marina, the fishing pier (10.40), to Leif Erikson's statue surrounded by a stone circle (10.50) then circling back to climb up the steps while enjoy the PNW greenery on the trail (by the dog park around 11.20). The final challenge (great cardio exercise) is the last \~ 300 steps up to Cafe Fioré, ending the hike at about 11.45. Then we may go to **Siam Thai** at 8305 15th Ave NW Seattle or **Sopranos Pizza & Pasta** at 7729 24th Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98117 (both within 4-5 minutes drive) for lunch. ### **Access** * Take **bus 40** from downtown and walk **15-20 minutes** to café Fiore. * Take **bus 45** from the U-District, which stops right outside café Fiore. * Drive and park anywhere curbside near the cafe. ### **Important** * You are responsible for your own safety and expenses during this walk. * This route is rated easy, but the nearly 300 steps may be challenging for some. Know your ability before signing up. **The loop is \~ 3 miles; 250 ft elevation gain.** * Pet courtesy: Pets are not allowed at the beach but the good thing is our walking route does not include beach. You can bring them if they are leashed, healthy and friendly.
