Organ Competition Winners

Organists Geurt van Lagen and Frits Okken, winners of the 2026 Duyschot Organ Competition, will perform a recital at the Westerkerk in Amsterdam during the Grachtenfestival. The program includes works by Bach, Widor, and Reger. Organ recital with 2 winners of the Duyschot Organ Competition Geurt van Lagen and Frits Okken both won first prize at the 2026 Duyschot Organ Competition in the Westerkerk. Van Lagen did so in the conservatory student category, Okken in the junior category (under 21). In this winners' concert, they perform together on the organ of the Westerkerk Amsterdam, in the heart of the Grachtenfestival. Program: from Bach to Reger The program features the monumental Toccata in F , BWV 540, by Johann Sebastian Bach. Additionally, the Toccata and Fugue from Symphony No. 4 by Charles-Marie Widor will be performed. The concert concludes with the dramatic Fantasia and Fugue in D minor , Op. 135b, by Max Reger. The performers Frits Okken is considered a promising young talent in the Dutch organ world. Geurt van Lagen studied at the Royal Conservatory and is cantor-organist of the Oude Kerk in Zoetermeer.
