Grachtenfestival: Muziekkapellen Estafette: Daniel Brandon & Sonya Shin

Violinist Sonya Shin and cellist Daniel Brandon perform chamber music in the Weesperzijdetuin in Amsterdam. They present a varied program featuring duet works and solo pieces. This concert is part of the Muziekkapellen Estafette, a collaboration with the Muziekkapellen Foundation. Chamber music in a historic open-air venue Violinist Daniel Brandon and cellist Sonya Shin play chamber music in the Weesperzijdetuin, one of the wooden music pavilions built around 1923 by unemployed ship carpenters. The three remaining pavilions are recognized monuments and form a special setting for open-air classical music. A varied program for violin and cello The program combines duo music with solo works. Ravel's impressive Duo Sonata takes center stage, complemented by a selection of solo pieces for violin and cello. Brandon and Shin have been a regular duo for quite some time and share a love for the chamber music repertoire. That connection can be heard in their interplay. Band Relay This concert is part of the Muziekkapellen Relay, an annual initiative of the Muziekkapellen Foundation in collaboration with the Grachtenfestival. The public can visit the three locations in Waterland, preferably by bicycle. The musicians remain at their locations; you decide which concert to attend.
