Meet the Designer - Christie Swallow

Meet Christie in their studio (The Shed) July - December 2026, as they work on a unique design project inspired by the collection at Young V&A. Over the next six months, Christie will tackle the birdhousing crisis by co-creating sustainable avian architectures with young people, drawing on Young V&A's collection of miniature habitats to design homes for our fine feathered city neighbours. Christie's practice crafts kinship between species. Engaging with play as a method and ecology as a subject for more-than-human stakeholders, Christie works through facilitation, making and spatial design.
