Saravá Samba Project - Roda de Samba

The eight-member Saravá Samba Project transforms the Terrace of the Muziekgebouw into a Brazilian dance floor. Samba is an ancient cultural heritage with deep roots, in which African rites and hymns have fused with Brazil's indigenous folk traditions. The audience forms a traditional roda de samba (samba circle), with the musicians in the center. This brings the exhilarating spectacle of layered rhythms very close. A terrace concert featuring samba in its purest form. Saravá Samba Project Saravá Samba Project is an initiative by percussionists Jeroen Hensel and Steven Brezet. The two musicians met during their stay in Brazil, where they immersed themselves in the rich samba tradition. Back in the Netherlands, they decided to combine their passion and knowledge and founded Saravá Samba Project together. Driven by that shared love for Brazilian music culture, they are committed to bringing samba in its most authentic form to Dutch stages.
